Milton's Philosophy...

As an integral part of our educational system, we, the faculty and staff of Milton Elementary School, are dedicated to the belief that all children deserve the unequivocal right to learn.  We are firmly committed to helping each student acquire the skills, abilities, and attitudes needed to become a productive citizen in our American democratic society.  As a result, we realize the importance of instilling in each child love, respect, and admiration for his American heritage, as well as an awareness of his future role in this complex, technological world.  To achieve such ends, we feel it is necessary to create and maintain a flexible environment whereby each student can grow physically, emotionally, and intellectually.  Furthermore, we give special attention to helping our children develop sound moral and social values, as well as a respectful attitude toward others with different cultural and ethnic backgrounds.  Above all else, we recognize and accept the underlying challenge of providing for individual differences, since each child is so uniquely different in his needs, abilities, and interests.  With the cooperative effort of the parents and community of Milton, we will strive to provide the various educational services necessary to help our children become worthwhile, dedicated American citizens.
